[2023-12-19] The latest version of PowerUSER is required to connect to new inverters. For more information see the below link:https://danfosseditron.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/articles/5045659438877-EC-C1200-hardware-modifications-and-required-actions-due-to-it- |
Firmware version
The current firmware version installed in a Danfoss Editron device can be checked with PowerUSER, please see 'Connecting to Danfoss Editron Inverter'.
Choose 'Firmware update' tab. The current firmware version is displayed on the second line:
If a parameter backup is available, the parameter tools allow to check which firmware version was installed in the device during the backup procedure: Open the backup file via PowerUSER, start by choosing the 'Parameter tools' tab (black wrench on yellow background). The first option 'View, edit or compare' lets you open a parameter backup (Left/Right) and edit it, after which the parameter browsing view opens. The firmware version installed in the device at the time of the parameter backup can be read on the second line of the black box in the header.
Firmware updates
In general, it is not necessary to update the firmware in an Editron device unless there is a specific reason for the update. Inquiries about firmware updates can be requested from Editron Service team as needed.
New firmwares are always backwards compatible, so the latest firmware can be always installed also on older devices. A newer firmware might have some new parameters or features, however if these are left at the default value and other parameters are copied from the old firmware, the functionality and behavior of the device will be identical also with the new firmware.
Downgrading the firmware (e.g. installing version 7.2.0 on an inverter which has 7.3.0 installed from the factory) is not possible, and should not be attempted as it can lead to a total failure of the device and cause danger to equipment and personnel.
For step-by-step guidance on how to update the firmware, see the PowerUSER quick guide by pressing the "?" button in the right-hand top corner of the PowerUSER window:
Post-Firmware Update Parameter Verification and Restoration
To guarantee the integrity of all parameters following a firmware update, including hidden parameters, adhere to the following procedure:
- Pre-update parameter backup: Make a parameter backup
- Firmware upload: Proceed with uploading the updated firmware to the inverter.
- Factory reset: Perform a factory reset to clear any potential conflicts.
- Parameter restoration: Utilize the parameter comparison tool, loading the current parameters from the device and the backup. Compare and manually select the desired parameters from the backup, writing these changes to the inverter.
